When we heard that Juli and Ren were expecting, a big kool-aid smile lit my face.
These two are so adorable and so much fun to be around with. They might seem familiar to you because we had the honor to capture their nuptials last year. When Juli contacted us for a maternity session, we were so excited! We set out a location and had a few options lined up, but because of the rain that we had several weeks ago, it ended up raining on our session date. ( and if you know us, we never like canceling or re-scheduling shoots) So… we had to “play” with the location a little bit more. If you are a San Diegan, you definitely should know about Babycakes! Its a little bakery in Hillcrest that serve delicious cupcakes and pastries! I tell ya, absolutely the bomb!
Anyways…I suggested to Juli that this little bakery would be a cute spot for her maternity session. I chose Babycakes because it was “them”, it was who they are as a couple, modern and urban like. I thought it matched perfectly. She loved the idea and was on board! So we headed down there and got started…Juli was great..it was so cold and raining, but she toughed it out just for me! Thanks again Juli! I had soo many favorites, from our session together. Below are just a few. Juli and Ren, thanks again for trusting us with our ideas, your willingness to try something “out of the box” made the session tens times the fun.
